The best parcels are selected yearly to create this premium wine which stands as an illustrious ambassador of what Lebanon has to offer; with its dark purple color and cedar aromas, this is a powerful wine that will reward the patience of those who cellar it for 5 to 8 years and even more. Decant it and enjoy it with braised lamb, Moroccan Merguez tagines or even a vegetarian lentil and smoky eggplant stew.
- Region: Vineyards are located in the Western Bekaa.
- Altitude: 1,050 m (3,445 feet) above sea level.
- Grape Varieties: Syrah (50%), Cabernet-sauvignon (50%).
- Age of the Vines: 20-25 years. density/ha: 3,500 vines/ha.
- Soil: Gravelous, with clay subsoils.
- Irrigation: Dry Farmed.
- Harvest: 100 % manual in boxes with intensive selection in the vineyards.
- Vinification: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation begins spontaneously. The wine is blended then aged in French oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 first use, 1/3 second use) for 18 months.
- Alcoholic Strength: 14 % vol.
