Syrah is a typical grape of the Mediterranean region. In Lebanon’s unique terroir the wine manages to combine elegant floral notes with an explosive spicy character on the nose and palate. It is wonderfully balanced and has a long, persistent finish. A big wine that would benefit from some additional time in cellar or decanting prior to serving.
Region: Vineyards are located in the Western Bekaa.
Altitude: 1,050 m (3,445 feet) above sea level.
Grape Varieties: Syrah (100%). Age of the Vines : 20-25 years. density/ha : 3,500 vines/ha.
Soil: Gravelous with clay subsoils.
Irrigation: Dry Farmed.
Harvest: 100 % manual in boxes with intensive selection in the vineyards.
Vinification: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation begins spontaneously. The wine is aged in all new American oak barrels for 24 months.
